School is back in session! Naturally, it’s time for distraction. Providence Roller Derby opens their home season with a tangle of pin stripes and pearls on September 8th, when last year’s undefeated champions, the Mob Squad, defend their title against the Old Money Honeys in a rematch of last year’s final bout at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Original gangsters Baby Fighterfly, Hit and Run Paulene and Rhode Kill return for the Mob, supported by the stealth swagger of returned PRD vets Elle Razor and Jean Harlot. Primed and ready with two pre-season bouts, the Honeys field legendary shields Sass E. McNasty and Shelby Bruisin, the slippery fight of long-time PRD vet Rhoda Perdition, and the fierce rookie presence of Scared Stiffany. Let’s do this! Join us at PVD Social Club after the bout for some butt-slapping and high-fiving at the afterparty. We hear there is a threat of karaoke. Hold on to your pants. Competition is family-friendly.
