WFTDA highlights Providence skater craisy dukes!

My “skating background” before derby was 8-year-old birthday parties at Star Wheels.

The governing body of Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby (WFTDA) features one skater from around the world each month that have impacted their league or the sport as a whole (and have been around the block a few times). This month, Providence Roller Derby was honored to have their own craisy dukes share a little about her secret inner monologue on the derby international platform that is WFTDA.com.

Blocking, jamming…I just want to be relevant in game play, but my most natural instincts are to help you get the points, protect you so you can go on with your bad self, realize your potential. Though the other side of the coin presents perennial challenges, we’re lucky in Providence that our size means we really know and care about each other. I am not a technical skater, I have power, endurance and reliability (yawn). But I will kill for you and I hope demonstrating that on and off the track will make you want to kill for me too.
