PROVIDENCE ROLLER DERBY, founded in 2004, is the premier all-female, flat-track roller derby league in New England. We are committed to fostering a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for all women to engage and participate in the sport of roller derby.
As a founding member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, PRD competes against other leagues with our internationally-ranked all-stars, the Rhode Island Riveters; they are currently 87th in the world.
In addition to our all-stars, the league includes:
- a farm travel team, the Killah Beez
- three local teams that compete intraleague: The Mob Squad, Old Money Honeys, and Sakonnet River Roller Rats
- a dedicated group of skating officials, non-skating officials, announcers, and volunteers
PRD, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization recognized by the IRS and the state of RI, is also active in our greater community: We partner with the Amos House every year for the Get Gored for Good charity run, run donation drives, and volunteer around the Providence area.
We currently hold local games at Thayer Arena and the West Warwick Civic Center, and practice in Warwick and West Warwick, RI. We are looking for a permanent home to skate and play — if you may have any leads, please let us know!
If you’re interested in becoming a part of Providence Roller Derby, we’d love to have you — we currently run tri-monthly recruitment training, and have a rolling on-boarding process for officials and volunteers.
